Running a business? Working for yourself? Just bought your first home, or moving up the ladder?
Whatever your situation, I'll give you honest advice, clear options, and a recommendation I'd be comfortable giving my own family.
I'm Alan — independent mortgage and protection adviser. I've helped business owners, contractors, first-time buyers, and families across the UK find mortgages when the high street said no, and protect what matters most if life doesn't go to plan.
Let's have a chatThe mortgage market wasn't built for you. Good job I was.
Most lenders look at your payslips. If you don't have any, they panic.
But self-employed doesn't mean risky. It means you pay yourself differently. And there are lenders who understand that — they just aren't the ones you'll find on a comparison site.
- One year’s accounts? Some lenders will work with that.
- Director taking dividends? There’s a lender who gets it.
- Sole trader with variable income? Still very doable.
- Already been told no by a bank? That’s usually just the start.
Banks have their own products and their own criteria. If your income doesn't fit neatly into a payslip, they'll often decline — not because you can't afford a mortgage, but because their systems weren't built for people like you.
As a whole-of-market adviser, I have access to lenders who take a far more human view of your application. The ones who look at the business, not just the box.

My only job is finding what's right for you.
Banks advise on their products. Tied advisers work from a panel. I advise on the whole market — which means no targets, no quotas, no product of the month.

A bit about Alan
I'm Alan. Dad, husband, and someone who got into this job because I genuinely enjoy helping people work through a problem.
I know how stressful the mortgage process can be when you don't know what you don't know. That's why I explain everything clearly, answer every question — yes, even the ones you think are obvious — and stay in your corner from the first call to the day you get your keys.
I've been through the mortgage process myself. I know what it's like to sit across the table and not quite understand what's being said. That experience shaped how I work.

No obligation. No jargon. Just a conversation about where you are and how I can help. Most people wish they'd done it sooner.
